  4. 1.  KEYBOARD FUNCTION ASSIGNMENTS
  5.  
  6.     The following are the keys and their function descriptions:    
  7.  
  8.     [F3]            Exit to DOS, all changes are discarded.
  9.     [TAB]           Move to Option.
  10.     [ENTER]         Accept Button. 
  11.                     Open Combo Box for selecting options,
  12.                     Accept options from combo Box.
  13.     []            Select Options within Combo box

  17. 2.  BUTTON FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS
  18.  
  19.     A button can be activated by either a mouse, keyboard [ENTER] or
  20.     ALT+button's hotkey.
  21.           
  22.     The following are the BUTTON names and their function 
  23.     descriptions:

  25.     HELP            Brings up this help page.
  26.  
  27.     ACCEPT          Accept the current chosen options and exit.
  28.                     The program checks for hardware conflicts. 
  29.                     If conflict exists, a warning window will show.
  30.                     The program updates the sound configuration and
  31.                     system files: SOUND16.CFG, CDROM.CFG, CONFIG.SYS
  32.                     AUTOEXEC.BAT, SYSTEM.INI, before exiting to DOS.
  33.  
  34.     SOUND TEST      Brings up the Sound Test Window.
  35.                     The Sound Test Window allows the following
  36.                     tests with the chosen hardware settings:
  37.                         8-Bit Sound Test  (Test SB Pro settings)
  38.                         16-Bit Sound Test (Test WSS settings)
  39.                         FM Music Test
  40.  
  41.     VOLUME          Brings up the Volume Control Window.
  42.                     The Volume Control Window allows the following
  43.                     volume adjustments:
  44.                         Master Volume
  45.                         Voice Volume
  46.                         FM Music Volume
  47.                         CD Audio Volume

  49.     MODEM           Brings up the Modem Configuration Window.
  50.                     The MODEM Configuration Window allows the
  51.                     following MODEM configurations:
  52.                         I/O Address
  53.                         Interrupt
  54.                     Note: This option is not selectable if
  55.                           your sound card doesn't support a 
  56.                           modem interface (MODEM=NO specified
  57.                           in DISK1)

  59.     CHANGE OPTIONS  Brings up the CD-ROM Configuration Window.
  60.                     The CD-ROM Configuration Window allows the
  61.                     following CD-ROM configurations:
  62.                         CD-ROM Drive Type
  63.                         MSCDEX selection
  64.                         I/O Address
  65.                         Interrupt
  66.                         DMA Channel
  67.                     Note: This option is not selectable if
  68.                           your sound card doesn't support a 
  69.                           CD-ROM interface (CDROM=NO specified
  70.                           in DISK1)

  73. 3.  COMBO BOX FUNCTION AND HARDWARE CONFIGURATION DESCRIPTIONS

  75.     A combo box can be activated by a mouse, or a keyboard [ENTER].
  76.     When activated, a list box with options is opened for selecions.

  78.     The following are the descriptions for each sound card's hardware 
  79.     section and its options:

  85.     Current Mode    your sound card can operate in one 
  86.                     of the following 2 operation modes:

  88.                     [Sound Blaster Pro] or 
  89.                     [Windows Sound System] Mode

  91.                     Select [Sound Blaster Pro] mode to enable
  92.                     your sound card to play Sound Blaster 
  93.                     compatible DOS games. (Default)

  95.                     Selecting [Windows Sound System] mode will
  96.                     switch your sound card into the mode to 
  97.                     play those DOS games or utilities written
  98.                     for Microsoft WSS compatible sound cards.

  100.                     The selected mode becomes the current mode
  101.                     upon exiting.

  129.     There are 2 modes for DMA selections:

  131.     [Single DMA]: uses a single DMA channel 
  132.                   for DMA playback and capture.

  134.     [Dual DMA]:   Allows to playback and record
  135.                   at the same time.
  136.                   0/1, 1/0, 3/0 are the Dual DMA 
  137.                   selections. The first one is
  138.                   for Playback. 2nd: recording.

  140.     Note: 16-bit Sound Test in the Sound Test Window can be used to 
  141.           test Windows Sound System Mode regardless of what the 
  142.           Current Mode setting is.

  148.     MPU401 is the industrial standard interface
  149.     for MIDI (Music) devices such as keyboards
  150.     and some Wave Table Synthesizer devices.
